I'm looking to find out why the railroad was called the "Bugline". On the website it says the Passengers were called Bugs....Why. Thank you
To bugline.
The reason the old Milwaukee Road tracks - now The Bugline Hiking trail was so named, was because of the way the tracks meandered from Milwaukee, Granville (Brown Deer), Menomonee Falls, Lannon, Sussex, Merton, to North Lake like a caterpillar. Since the tracks were not kept up very well, the speed was slow (10-20mph). The train stopped running on the tracks in the early 1970's.
I am looking for information about a fire which happened in the early 1930's. It burned out the 2 story portion of the Cyrus Davis house at W204 N7776 Lannon Rd.
